I am a PhD candidate at Colorado State University in the Chemistry Department with a focus in analytical chemistry with biological applications. My undergraduate background is duel Bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Biology, which I earned from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. I've been tutoring for about 7 years in a combination of informally as well as formally, primarily in STEM topics. My philosophy with tutoring is to "show one, do one, teach one". On a student-by-student basis, I show or help with an example problem first. Next, the student does a problem as much on their own as they can, then I have the student teach me how to do the problem as if our roles are reversed. My passion is to help students truly understand their difficult topics and adapt the tutoring session to their learning styles. Outside of academia, my hobbies include a wide variety of activities including bass fishing, painting, and cooking.
