I'm a nonprofit grantwriter and geographer taking a plunge into the publishing industry. I've just started an MFA at the Wilkes University Creative Writing Program, after getting a geography MA at San Francisco State and a BA in International Relations at Goucher College. I started tutoring with an after-school SAT prep program in Rockford, IL and loved seeing students get inspired to do well despite the drab material. I'm excited to join Varsity and be able to add subjects I'm most passionate about, like history, geography, and ecology, to my repertoire.

My tutoring style is informal and flexible, as I find that students may struggle with the material for a variety of reasons, not all of which have anything to do with the subject itself. So I try to teach both the material and to figure out the best method you can use to approach and to learn it.
