I recently graduated with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education and a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Along with my degree, I received an ESL endorsement so I can more effectively help students whose first language is not English. I speak Spanish and have taught English classes to Hispanic individuals in the Richmond, Virginia area. While in classrooms I have worked one-on-one with ESL students especially in the development of their reading comprehension and phonological awareness. While I love teaching all subjects, if I had to pick a favorite it would be math or language arts. I am passionate about helping people of all backgrounds succeed at their education goals. I believe that every person has the right to an education because it empowers them to make a better life for themselves. Making learning fun and teaching students important skills will enable them to become life-long learners. In my spare time, I enjoy swimming, skiing, and curling up with a good book.
