I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. My experience with teaching started when I became a Supplemental Learning Leader in Biology in my first years of college. I would end every study session feeling incredibly energized. My interests pivoted and I pursued research opportunities in psychology. I did an undergraduate honors thesis, which culminated with me having to teach an educated audience about my findings on concepts related to cognitive psychology and social psychology. I grew up in the Dominican Republic in a household where we only spoke Spanish. I got the chance to teach older adults about the basics of Spanish after graduating from college for a summer on a voluntary basis at my local senior center. I am passionate about helping students of all ages expand their knowledge in a way that makes it clear how learning about certain concepts can improve their lives. My teaching style centers on active learning and real-world applications. Outside of academia, I am drawn to fitness, mindfulness and enjoying time with family.
