I am a graduate of the University of Kansas where I received my Bachelor of Arts with Honors in English in addition to a degree in Theatre and Film. I also have a half-completed degree in Spanish. I consider myself a lifelong learner and continue to take college level courses. Over the course of 10+ years tutoring, I've worked one-on-one with over 50 students -- from public schools and private schools to tutoring children in California for the "No Child Left Behind" program. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Reading, Writing and History. In addition to tutoring, I find it incredibly important to act as a mentor for K-12 students. I want them to know they have someone rooting for them both inside and outside of the classroom, and try to make myself available to attend basketball games and piano recitals to show how much I care. In my experience helping struggling students, we always find ways to make learning fun -- and I think that comes from incorporating what students are passionate about. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, watching documentaries, biking, gardening and playing with my puppy dog, Stella!
