I am a graduate of the University of Chicago. As a double major in English literature and Theater, I combined a passion for scholarship with a sense of play.
Tests have always seemed, to me, like games. Taking a multiple choice reading quiz is like solving a puzzle. And writing an essay is like making art. No doubt, the prospect of a big test has intimidated me many times in my life; but over time I've learned to reframe test-taking as a fun opportunity to show off what I know.
I love helping students transform their anxieties into brag-worthy opportunities, their weaknesses into strengths. I have years of experience dating back to my junior year of high school, in subjects as diverse as chemistry, elementary school math, and writing college applications. I have also spent two summers teaching music to special needs students at the Monarch School in Houston. With Varsity Tutors, I tutor in any and all subjects having to do with reading, writing, and English literature, including AP classes and SAT prep, as well as AP Psychology.
