Throughout my childhood and young adult life, education has been a powerful influence and tool that has opened doors of opportunity for me to learn, grow and experience the world around me. I am extremely passionate about helping to empower students to discover their purpose, cultivate their academic and personal strengths and develop in their areas of improvement so that they can live their dreams as their reality and confidently and successfully walk through every door of opportunity that life has in store for them.

I have previously worked with students in a variety of settings. I have taught one-on-one tutoring sessions with students in the area of high school mathematics, supported fellow classmates and peers in various subjects throughout my schooling, assisted with youth Sunday school teachings, facilitated positive learning environments for toddlers during babysitting shifts and assisted with high school and Special Olympic volleyball coaching as a former collegiate athlete.

I attained my Bachelor's degree from New York University as a double major in International Relations and Broadcast Journalism with a minor in French, and I am currently working toward a second Bachelor's degree in biblical studies from River University.

I enjoy teaching and tutoring in the subject areas of English, language arts, reading, writing, grammar and editing and proofreading because I love the art of words and putting them together to communicate with and empower others.

The core of my teaching philosophy is approaching each student as an individual with specific needs and a specific purpose in life, and it is a blessing to have the opportunity to help and impact a student as they journey to their dreams, both academic and otherwise. My tutoring style includes consistent positive feedback, helpful suggestions, simplification of complex concepts into smaller steps, encouragement of the student to ask questions, attention-to-detail and customized materials and methods that are best suited for the student's individual learning style and strengths.

Outside of academia, my interests include reading, traveling, uplifting music, comedic films and television shows, enjoying the outdoors on a sunny day and eating and laughing with loved ones around the dinner table.
