I am currently a 2nd Clinical Psychology PhD Student at the University of Central Florida. I am also a current National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow. While I am able to tutor a wide range of topics, I am passionate about teaching and assisting with psychology, statistics, mentoring, and writing.
When I was an undergraduate, I obtained a minor in Statistics and tutored many students in various statistic courses. I also have experience as a teaching assistant in Statistical Methods in Psychology, Teaching Symposium, Abnormal Psychology, Physiological Psychology, and General Psychology. My favorite part about being a TA is helping students understand the course material. In addition, I am familiar with the following statistical programs: SPSS, R, SAS, MPlus and STATA.
In regards to statistics, I really do enjoy the art of statistics! I understand many individuals may have anxiety surrounding statistics, so my goal would be to help you become comfortable with statistics (and maybe even find statistics fun!).
Furthermore, I have co-authored several scientific publications, co-authored a textbook chapter, written an undergraduate thesis, and am currently working on my master's thesis. I have a lot of experience with writing, editing, and assisting with the creative process.
Continuing, during my time in my PhD program, I co-founded a Mentorship program where we help underrepresented students get graduate school help and advice. I am very helpful with entrance essays, interview advice/practice, and general application advice.
My teaching philosophy is a strength-based approach. We will be able to use your strengths to help you with areas you need further help with. I will always try my best to explain ways that make sense to your learning style and will adapt my teaching style to your learning style.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my Shiba Inu mix, Bella. I also enjoy gardening, painting, yoga, and cooking! I also have a black belt in GoJu Karate!
