University at Buffalo Medical Physics Doctoral student in New York state studying medical image analysis and patient treatment optimization. I grew up moving across the U.S., finally settling in Seattle, WA, where I earned my Bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Washington, where my undergraduate work focused on a project creating a database of radiation therapy treatment plans of past patients, allowing me to create algorithms from the data to optimize treatment for future patients. While a student, I also worked as an assistant video coordinator for the UW Huskies football team. I then moved to Tampa, FL for my Master's degree from the University of South Florida, and to participate in cancer research encompassing drug discovery, cancer imaging, and cancer cell metabolism. There I participated in several studies, producing several publications and conference posters. From my education and experiences, I've found a passion for studying physics, mathematics, biology, chemistry, medicine, computer programming, and many multidisciplinary subjects in between. And I am excited to share that experience with you as we work towards accomplishing your goals! The most fun I have when tutoring is adapting my physics and other subject lessons to my student's interests. I always say you might find physics boring until you start learning classical mechanics through Luke Skywalker's ability to calculate the trajectory needed for his proton torpedoes to destroy the Death Star. I have also taken undergraduate and graduate courses and standardized exams and can help you with those as well.
In my free time, I am an avid sportsman (basketball, boxing, football, running), traveler, pilot, and hiker. I like to take my small Piper Warrior on small trips to nearby towns. I have traveled to South America to work in mobile medical clinics, as well as over to Europe a few times.
I am excited to get to work with you and help you reach your goals!
