I recently graduated from Florida International University (FIU), having earned my degree in Biochemistry and my minor in Biology. As an undergraduate, I helped to tutor my classmates in our respective courses. In doing so, I was constantly reviewing course topics and finding new ways to teach these topics. This granted me the opportunity to both solidify course knowledge and to develop new ways of approaching said topics.
In general, I have a passion for the life and physical sciences; however, I am most passionate about Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry, especially the latter. I enjoy examining the complexities and intricacies of biological and organic molecules. More so than anything I appreciate these molecules' capacity for change: It is impressive to say the least.
My tutoring philosophy is to empower students to independently think about topics both critically and creatively. As such, I see myself in the role of a facilitator. I believe in a more hands on approach because it allows students to develop, practice, and master their own learning styles.
In my spare time, I like to read, to listen to music, to play video games, and to watch movies and basketball.
