My overall goal is to use my education and experiences in teaching to enrich and provide supports to diverse learners in person or online. I have a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies with Elementary Education Licensure and a Minor in English (2013) and a MA in Special Education (2019). I currently hold a Colorado Professional Teaching License to in the following areas of Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education Generalist (5-21). I am trained in two different research based reading interventions: Lindamood Bell-LIPS, Seeing Stars, Visualizing and Verbalizing, and SIPPS. I have six years of teaching experience. I have taught grades K-2 as a general education teacher, grades 6-8 as a Special Education Teacher, Reading Intervention K-6, and a Reading Tutor for for local public schools. My passion lies in reading and math intervention. School was never easy for me. I was academically behind my peers and that was embarrassing. I prayed that my teacher would never call on me to read or solve a math problem in front of the class. My family was able to afford a tutor for me and that changed my life. That experience has ignited a desire for me to become a teacher that encourage and support students who want to learn but may find it difficult. I believe all individuals can learn with proper supports in place.
