I have worked with youth and families for many years as a professional case manager and advocate in various systems. Additonally, I have provided counseling for youth and parent/child relationships. I have worked with youth as both a coordinator and counselor for after-school and summer programs. I even spent several years working as a both a short and long-term temporary teacher in public and charter schools. Even more recently, I volunteered as a special education advocate for a child in the public school system. When I was young I tutored high school students while in college.
I have been teaching poetry and how to have fun with words for over 6 years. I have taught youth and adults from 9-60 years of age. I have a passion for both creativity and expressing WORDS, written and orally. This includes things like poetry, prose and spoken word. I know that many non-mainstream ways of learning allow educational concepts to stick stronger in a student's memory. I enjoy seeing students have fun learning in general.
I am a professional poet and actress - having been featured in commercials and billboards. I also booked for film and theatre roles. I started modeling in high school and later went on to teach as an adult privately and for John Casablancas modeling & career center. In early 2000, I ran a model management company for several years training and booking models, mainly for live promotions and runway. I have also graced the cover of magazines and runways. I am currently the momager for my son who is a professional singer and actor.
I have been the producer & host of The Peaceful Poetic Place poetry & music series for seven years. Ireleased my freshman cd, Spoken Soul I: Perfect Imperfections, in 2016 and am the published author of "Beautiful Thought(s): A Chapbook". I am also the recipient of the National Poetry Awards - Christian Poet & Spoken Word Artist of the Year (2011); Religious Poet of the Year (2013 nominee); and Host of the Year (2016).
