I have a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MS degree in Chemistry from Texas A&M Commerce. I worked as an engineer for less than two years due to layoffs. When I decided to restart my career, I chose to be an educator. Initially I taught high school math but after 5 years, switched to chemistry. In my experience the students who struggle in chemistry are usually ones who struggle in math, so some lessons turn into mini-math lessons. I enjoy teaching chemistry and tutoring at the AP/college level. I believe education to be the doorway to opportunity. In my teaching style, I believe a strong understanding of the basic concepts is crucial to any subject. Complex problems are just a series of small step-by-step problems strung together. In my spare time I enjoy reading, card games and personal fitness.
