I spent thirty years in the elementary classroom helping students become successful learners. I was and am passionate about helping find their strengths and enjoy learning as becoming a lifelong learner is imperative to being a happy person. To gain the knowledge necessary to be a teacher I attended University of Kentucky for my undergraduate work, Morehead State University for my master's, and University of Louisville for my Rank 1. As you can tell I enjoy learning as well as helping others learn. My experience enables me to tutor elementary and middle school Language Arts (Reading and Writing), Math, Science, and Social Studies. The foundation to learning is building and maintaining a respectful relationship; therefore my teaching philosophy and tutoring style strives to keep that respect piece in check as we, the teacher and learner, who at times switches places as I enjoy learning with and from my students, learn together. When I am not teaching I enjoy exercising to stay in shape, baking, reading, and quilting.
