As a fourth-year medical student in Texas, I view this opportunity as one that allows me to continue my passion to serve as a mentor to others. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology with highest honors from The University of Texas at Austin. As someone with many tutoring experiences, I have learned different learning strategies and am comfortable in adjusting to various techniques for the needs of my students. Whether that is through verbalizing explanations or using visual aids to demonstrate a concept, I am confident that I will find a way to ensure the best learning. I believe that learning is rooted in comprehending concepts through asking "why" and understanding application of such knowledge. Therefore, as a tutor, I focus on the importance of building a strong foundation of knowledge. Because of my education background and experiences, I am most comfortable with STEM courses, such as anatomy, biology, and mathematics. I am a native Chinese speaker and would enjoy sharing my language with others.
