I started my working career as a medic in the Army. While I was in the service, I received further training that allowed me to challenge the LPN exam and get my license.
When I got out of the Army, I went to school and got my Bachelor's in Business Administration. Unfortunately, it was more economically advantageous for me to continue working as an LPN. Of course, this all change when I got my first PC. I actually crashed it the first day I got it and was able to get it working again. I was totally hooked and went back to school for my Master's in Computer Information Systems.
This degree actually allowed me to start working as an adjunct instructor at a local community college. And again, I was hooked. I absolutely loved showing people how to work with computers. It was my department chair, who recommended taking my medical background and combining it with my computer background and work in Health Informatics.
So I went back to school one more time, and got my Bachelor's in Health Informatics. Upon completed that, I took and passed the Ahima RHIA, Registered Health Information Administrator exam.
Ever since then, I have continue to help students whenever I can whether they are working in computers or health informatics.

I actually enjoy creating soaps and lotions. It's fun for me to look at the properties of different ingredients to try and create a item that will actually help a specific problem that I may be enduring. An example is my sore muscle and arthritis balm. My husband likes it to but says the individual ingredients smell like the south end of a north bound Yak. I also enjoy working with stained glass and creating lamps or other useful items from the glass.
