I am currently a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) student in the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track at the University of Florida. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a focus on linguistics in 2016. I then took a gap year and went on to complete the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree in 2018. Since becoming a nurse, I have worked in intraoperative neurosurgery, orthopedics, and psychiatry. I have since stopped working at the bedside to focus on my studies. Currently, I hold positions as both a graduate teaching assistant and a research assistant at my university. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, fundamentals of nursing, and psychiatry/mental health. In my experience helping struggling nursing students prepare for the NCLEX and HESI, we always seem to reach that "AHA!" moment where the exam doesn't seem so scary after all. Education can be such a strong driving force for growth, and I try to impart this viewpoint to my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading about psychotherapy and astrology, listening to podcasts, exercising, and spending time with my two cats.
