I am graduating in May of 2021 with a BA in Elementary Education from the University of Colorado at Denver. Throughout my college career, I have had the opportunity to work as an AVID tutor (tutoring elementary, middle, and high school students), outdoor education leader (working with 5th grade girls), and paraprofessional in a preschool classroom. I have also spent time volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, and I currently have an internship in a 3rd grade classroom. I am particularly passionate about teaching elementary literacy, but I have a strong background in elementary mathematics as well.
One of my favorite quotes of all time, by Albert Einstein, states, "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid." Stemming from this quote, I believe in helping my students identify their own unique strengths and assets so they can achieve their own goals and become independent, passionate, lifelong learners.
