My name is Caelainn Engelbrecht. I graduated from Purdue University- West Lafayette in December 2016 with my BA in Elementary Education. Since then, I have completed all course work for my endorsement in Gifted and Talented Studies. In May 2020, I received my Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Gifted Education. I have taught 4th Grade since August 2017. I completed my official student teaching in a 3rd Grade High Ability classroom, but I had practicum experiences in grades K-5. I taught for one semester as a 7/8th Grade Language Arts teacher after graduation.
I have tutored students after school in my current corporation. When working with students during the school year, they will usually bring their homework with them for us to work on together. While working on this, I would usually come up with more questions similar to the ones that we were working on. If I am given the objectives prior to the session, I can then come up with activities that would align better with the homework they need to complete.
During summer tutoring, I can created lessons based on preparing the students for the upcoming school year. These were enrichment students that would reinforce skills that have been previously taught while expanding to the next level of their education.
