I'm a senior undergraduate student at Rice University working on my Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering degree.
My favorite subjects to tutor are middle school and high school level math, such as algebra, trig, geometry, and calculus. I've worked as a private tutor for a middle school student for the past year, so I'm excited to work with even more students through Varsity Tutor. My goal is to not only help the student finish the assignment but for them to learn the concepts being taught. Therefore, I will always ask the students to explain what their reasons are for how they are approaching the problem and talk about ways to improve. I'm also patient and give lots of positive encouragement to help the student feel more comfortable.
Right now, I am applying to bioengineering PhD programs and hope to join a tissue engineering research lab in Fall 2021. When I'm not tutoring, doing homework, or working in my research lab, I am dancing with my K-pop dance club, BASYK Rice, of which I am president this year.
