My approach to tutoring is first and foremost that the student's agenda is my agenda. I value the art of listening and responding to present needs. As a teacher I strive to ask the right questions, and allow the student the opportunity to explain what they already know. In my experience if someone can explain a concept successfully, that demonstrates a clear understanding.
I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science from BYU-Idaho where I studied general psychology, theatre, and 2-D art. As a tutor for the university I worked one-on-one and with groups for students taking psychology courses on campus as well as online.
Since graduation, I have traveled extensively tutoring underprivileged children in India, and working as a TEFL certified English teacher in China. In addition to being a full-time English teacher I worked with teachers, parents, and students as a private tutor.
While I am interested in a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Eastern Psychology, and Literature.
I'm currently working towards gaining more teaching experience in the States so I can share my passion for learning with another generation.
