I am a retired classroom teacher. I taught in the elementary school setting for 25 years. I taught second, third, and fourth grades. I am a graduate of Harris-Stowe State University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary of Education with a minor in psychology. I received my Master's Degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Writing Instruction from National Louis University. I believe education is the great equalizer; it lifts people out of poverty and increases their chances for success in life. I am an avid reader and I am enthusiastic about teaching reading and writing. I believe literacy is the key to academic success. I enjoy watching movies and reading mystery and romance novels.
