Hi, my name is Chloe Brunak, and I am a third-year college student majoring in Political Economy and Spanish.
I have one year of experience tutoring. Most recently, I was a tutor for two siblings - an eighth-grader and a fourth-grader near the University I attend, when school was in person. I helped them with their Spanish, English, and Math homework. Additionally, during my senior year of high school, I was a peer tutor, and I tutored high schoolers on a volunteer basis. I aided freshman and sophomores with English, focusing on grammar and writing skills. Outside of tutoring, I am a copy editor for my school newspaper, and I play on my school's intramural soccer team.
The students I have taught enjoy my enthusiasm, as well as the clarity I provide in my feedback and instruction. I typically like to start a lesson by introducing myself briefly. I then will try and make the student feel more comfortable by having them share their favorite hobbies and subjects in school, to get a sense of their learning style. I try to incorporate the student's interests and learning style into my tutoring approach. I like to keep my lessons engaging and break them up into different parts. Of course, my method can be adjusted to meet the student's specific needs.
