I believe learning is a life long process and I live this philosophy daily! My first career was in education and I currently hold a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education/English and a Master's Degree in Experiential Education. I worked for many years in alternative education settings such as a traveling high school as well as wilderness and environmental education. I have a deep passion for the outdoors! Later in life, I realized I had a strong interest in medicine and working with women. I became a doula, then a nurse, a lactation consultant, and a midwife. I have also worked in medical surgical nursing. I recently completed a Doctorate in Nursing Practice as well. I believe that each student is unique in regards to how they can best understand and apply information. I strive to accommodate different learning styles and this typically does not involve a lecture format. Interaction and engagement with materials helps solidify important concepts as opposed to rote memorization. I enjoy using my combined and varied expertise to work with students. I try to bring a good sense of humor and some fun to every session and love getting to know my students.
