Are you looking to build confidence in your subject, experience less stress over assignments, and rock your course?
For many years, I have been coaching students on how to: develop study skills and strategies that work for their unique needs/schedule, and build confidence in their research & writing skills.
When I coach, regardless of the subject or your grade level, I focus on your strengths and interests, helping you apply these in ways that give you an "edge" in the learning "game." The skills I help you to develop are skills you already possess (and a few may have to learn). Once you recognize these skills and have practiced using them, we refine them based on the subject, assignment, and whatever is going on your busy schedule.
I hold an M.S. in Psychology (high honors) with specialization in health behavior and research methods. My undergraduate degree, from Penn State University, is in Exercise/Sport Science.
While I was a graduate student, I supervised honors undergraduate students and worked as a writing tutor and study skills tutor for student-athletes. I have work experience in the fitness industry and in health research. What I loved the most, though, was teaching college courses in health, social sciences and psychology, including many honors and writing intensive courses.
When my children were born, I chose work from home and launched a professional writing business, which I have done for over 12 years. My writing experience includes print, website, patient pamphlets, newsletters, etc.. I have continued to work with students--elementary through college-- particularly those who need help in psychology and health courses, literature, reading, and writing intensive courses.
I look forward to working with you!
