Certified in both Elementary Education (P-5) and Middle Grades (4-8) Science, I have 10 years of experience with preschool to 8th grade aged students in schools with alternative curriculums, such as Reggio Emilia, Montesorri and International Baccalaureate. I enjoy tutoring math, because I understand the building blocks of mathematics that help sequence concrete understanding in young children. I enjoy tutoring science, because I am passionate about science and believe it is an engaging subject that encourages creative problem-solving. I currently homeschool tutor second graders in the mornings, and collaborate with both their families and their virtual STEM school teacher. I understand both the academic and the social/emotional challenges that students are facing as virtual learners. I work with families and teachers to foster the overall wellbeing of the students I tutor.
