I graduated from the University of Richmond having earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Mathematics. My passion to tutor students stems from the fact that I am a first generation college graduate. Education has always played a pivotal role in my life, and therefore, I understand the value of it. A proper education can bolster a student's academic progress and open doors to new opportunities. For this reason, I became a volunteer for the SAT College Readiness Initiative where I tutored for the last 2.5 years. I prepared juniors and seniors in high school for the math section of the SATs.
Last summer, I worked as a STEM intern at my college access scholarship program. There, I tutored incoming high school freshmen in a one-on-one and classroom setting on pre-algebra topics. From these experiences I have learned to respect and alter teaching methods for various students. I adhere to a personalized approach to teaching as each individual student has different needs.
In my free time I enjoy working out, taking long walks, and reading.
