Howdy! Jacob here. My love for math was sparked in 5th grade when I won first place in my district's MathMasters tournament. Since then, my passion for math has grown, taking me to Orlando, Florida, to represent Minnesota in the annual Mathcounts competition, and to Boston, Massachusetts to compete in the Harvard-MIT math competition as a member of team Minnesota. I took my first chemistry class my sophomore year of high school and instantly fell in love. I competed twice in the National Chemistry Olympiad, and recently graduated form the University of Minnesota with a degree in Chemical Engineering. I am now focused on giving back to the communities that helped me along the way, working as a summer school teacher for a program I used to attend, and volunteering at the Mathcounts regional competition hosted at the U of M. I look forward to getting to know you and hope I can instill the same sense of wonder I have for math and science in you!
