I graduated from Bard College where I majored in American Literature. There I was employed for three years as an on-campus Writing Fellow, helping Freshmen work on drafting argument-based essays for their core class. While studying abroad at The University of Oxford I became knowledgeable in a good deal of medieval literature in addition to turning a paper around in very short periods of time. Since then, I left academia for a bit working in the in Journalism and Television industries where I wrote everything from pitches to major TV networks (A&E, Bravo, Discovery, BBC America, etc.) and scripts for promotional shoots. (Those years also made me a whiz with PowerPoint!). In 2019, I returned to the world of academia to get a Humanities MA. I am finishing up my thesis on Poe and materialism for a spring graduation at The University of Chicago. I have already been hired as a Lector to work with underclassman in the campus writing center starting in 2021. And I am Currently a Tutor for KKC Community College here in Chicago part-time!
So in short I got into a Liberal Arts College, The University of Oxford, and an Ivy. I can help you or your child with their college admissions essays, no matter their goal!
I am an expert in thesis construction, problem solving and favor a question based methodology and a few hands-on tools like reverse outlines! As a student myself, I also struggle with writers block and am in a unique position to help students who are struggling with many aspects of the writing process. Beyond all this I know how to make writing persuasive - how to sell an idea, academically or otherwise.
I believe that books make us better people and know from "real world" experience that being able to write confidently will help you in any field.

I love to watch cat videos and period dramas, read anything by Kelly Link or Toni Morrison, and draw faces of bemused women. I often can be found taking a (quick) dip in the lake or searching for croissants.
