I am a rising senior taking leave from MIT (due to the pandemic). I have completed 90% of my degree in Mechanical Engineering and Design with a concentration in Ancient and Medieval Studies. During my time at school, I have spent two years TAing freshman physics courses (Classical Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism) and a year working on educational resources at the MIT Media Lab's Learning Initiative. Last summer, I was a residential tutor/counselor for the Women and Technology Program at MIT, a 4 week camp for high school girls to learn all about mechanical engineering.
Since high school, I have always enjoyed helping others learn because of the joy learning has brought me. I am especially passionate and engineering and physics because I think understanding the world around us gives us a new, beautiful perspective on life. When tutoring, I push people to think of what tools they have, what knowledge they can recall, as a starting point for every problem. I want my students to be empowered with confidence that they have what it takes to master any skill!
In between working and taking care of myself, I enjoy knitting, hiking, and talking with my cat.
