I am a graduate of Sam Houston State University with a degree in English. Over the last ten years, I have taught high school English in both public then private school, including recovery credit English, GT English and Advanced Placement Literature and Composition, SAT Prep, and Speech and Debate. I am passionate about seeing students enjoy literature and writing. I believe that all students are capable of creating great work if they believe in themselves and are willing to ask for help. I love working with students on their academic writing because I get to see those moments of clarity and pride when a student completes a task he thought was too difficult. I also love helping students understand the author's purpose, character psychology and writer's craft when examining literature. When I am not working with students, you will most likely find me chasing my two young children around, volunteering around my city, playing video games, or curled up with a book.
