I am a graduate from Michigan State University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in East Asian Languages and Cultures with a focus on Chinese language and political science. I am in my 21st year of teaching. I currently teach Chinese at the high school level. Since 2007, I have conducted a variety of workshops and presentations on both the international and national levels as well at regional and state conferences. I also serve on the Board of Directors several professional language organziations at the local, regional, and national levels. I have been an AP Chinese Language and Culture teacher since the 2006-2007 school year. Additionally, I served at the AP Chinese Language and Culture co-chair for 5 years and as an AP rater for 8 years. As you can see, I am passionate about Chinese language learning! Effective teaching needs to be student centered, proficiency-oriented with each student's needs taken into consideration.
