I am a rising senior at Macalester College and will receive my degrees in Psychology and Linguistics next spring. I have been teaching in some capacity all throughout high school and college. I began by working as a Sunday School assistant instructor for young children ranging from ages 3-10 for. I have also served as a teaching assistant in science and writing for middle school-aged students and was a Writing Center Mentor in my high school . While at Macalester College, I have served as a preceptor to first and second year students and have also taught English as a Second Language to students grades 6-9 in Denmark.
While I have the ability to tutor in a range of different subjects, I have a passion for the subjects of psychology, phonics, English, Reading, and Writing.
I love helping students learn how to voice their thoughts and opinions through words and am always so excited to help students discover a joy for reading and books. Additionally, I love infusing my love for my two majors into teaching.
Overall, I believe that education is a stepping stone to a better life. I believe it's tremendously important to aid students in their learning journey by providing them the tools to build their own sense of agency, intrinsic motivation, and confidence in academics so that they can go on to live a fulfilling life.
In my spare time, I love to sing, play the piano, go on hikes and bike rides, cook and bake with my siblings, and devour a few books.
