I am a Spanish teacher, originally from Michigan, where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Education and ESL (English as a Second Language). Since my graduation, I moved to Madrid, Spain, where I was a Language and Culture Assistant for the English Language. After a year of working abroad, I returned to Michigan where I worked at the International Academy with the IB curriculum for two years. During that time, I taught MYP and DP Spanish Language and Culture of Spain, I established a strong classroom community where I implemented restorative circles as well as many engaging and productive lessons and practices. In addition, I became the new sponsor of IASA (Indian American Leadership Association) and was responsible for getting our campus involved in the tri-campus show for the first year. I have been an Extended Essay mentor for students, have received IB training at FLIBS and have changed the lives of students. I am beyond passionate about helping students overcome difficulties, especially with a second language, because I understand just how empowering it can be. I know how to inspire and motivate people to see past their imperfections; something that we all possess and should cherish.
