I am a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Biology with minors in chemistry and Ethics. I then went on to Iowa State University where I earned a Master of Science in Biomedical Science. I am currently a third-year medical student at Ross University of Medicine where I have had the opportunity to travel the Caribbean and the United States while pursuing my MD. Before medical school, I worked at North Iowa Area Community College working as a Supplemental Instruction Tutor for the Introduction to Biology Course. At the same time, I was also a tutor in biology, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, math, and other science courses. I have a diverse education in both science and ethics, but my passion lies in the medical sciences. It is one of the many reasons why I chose a career as a physician. I firmly believe that education can be fun and a way to advance the mind to things you never thought you could do. Through hard work, and dedication students are able to achieve goals that earlier seemed impossible. My friends call me a "theater nerd" because I love all things related to musicals and Broadway. After I earn my MD, I hope to have season tickets to a community theater. I also would love to travel to England as well as Ireland and France. I have spent the last two years studying medicine in the Caribbean and I would love to someday return to enjoy the islands I visited to attend medical school.
