Your biggest lessons in life, come from your failures. I believe that my failures can be a vital role in another's lesson. I love teaching others because I have been in their shoes. I have been a teacher for quite a while now! I started in high school teaching Dance. I then graduated and became a teaching assistant at my college. Now, I find myself in Nursing school and still teaching EMTs!
I went to a high school in Colorado and later attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am currently at Denver College of Nursing and eagerly waiting to graduate with my BSN-RN. While I attended CU Boulder, I majored in Neuroscience and Integrative Physiology.
I currently tutor only with EMTs, but in my past I have tutored EMTs, Spanish, and Anatomy. When I was first going through EMT school I would've done anything to have someone help walk me through the material and skills, now I am that person for others.
My current teaching philosophy is to see every student as an independent player. What I mean by this is that often times teachers tend to compare students, because one student learns this way so will others... I believe this to be anything but true. I like to learn who my students are and how they learn best before I ever start to teach them.
Outside of academia, you will find me working in the hospital or other events around Colorado as an EMT. If I am not working I love to work out or go dancing.
