I received a B.A. in English from the University of Dayton and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Communication Studies from the University of Georgia. I began my tutoring career as a writing consultant at the University of Dayton and continued working in the writing center at Howard Community College(Maryland), while I applied to graduate schools. Over the last six years I've taught Intro to Public Speaking, Intro to Interpersonal Communication, and Introduction to Rhetorical Criticism as well as tutoring a host of communication and history courses for the University of Georgia's Athletics Department. Like many of my students, I was initially apprehensive about public speaking, but it has rapidly become one of my favorite subject areas. As an instructor in a field that crosses over into so many other fields and professions, I never know what new and interesting subjects I'm going to hear about which makes every day exciting and new.
