The Spanish language and culture has always played a major role in my life. While I was born in the USA, I lived in Spain for a few years as a child, as well as an adult. I grew up learning Spanish conversationally, but also studied it thoroughly throughout my education. I attended the Middlebury Monterey Language Academy, as well as received my Bachelor of Arts in Hispanic Studies and International Politics from Hamilton College (New York). While at Hamilton, I was the Teaching Assistant to the Hispanic Studies Department, teaching and planning lessons for entry-level college courses, and also taught biweekly Spanish classes to elementary and middle school students. Since graduating, I worked at a school in Madrid, teaching English to native Spanish speakers (I am a certified ESL instructor). I also have extensive experience tutoring in Spanish, and have worked with individuals ranging from 3 to 70 years old. My passion is helping enable others to communicate in another language. Learning another language, and being able to apply it while in the workplace, traveling, or even our daily lives, is becoming increasingly important and valuable. I adjust my lesson plans to accommodate each individual and their interests. My main philosophy to teaching is to be able to learn and absorb information, while still having fun and implementing elements such as music, entertainment, cooking, and real-life scenarios into my classes. As a fluent Spanish speaker, I have been able to utilize my language skills as a sales professional over the past four years, working with a majority Spanish-speaking clientele base. Whether you are looking for a tutor for Spanish classes/schoolwork, AP Spanish Language and/or Literature Exams, or to learn and improve your Spanish language skills in general (whether for a conversational or professional business setting), I am the perfect person to help you reach your goals and very excited to work with you!
