I am an active, outdoor oriented person who thrives working in the outdoors with an academic mind that thrives with the challenge of "cracking the code" and helping others to find the key to learning. I obtained my B.A. Cum Laude in English with a concentration in writing in 2004 at CSU in Fort Collins. During that time I developed a passion for the dissection and analysis of literature, specifically in Medieval and Post-Modern literature. During that time I served as a TA for the Mythical and Biblical backgrounds course as well as a computer lab monitor and resource within the English department. After receiving my degree, I returned to the mountains that I love to continue pursuing my career in outdoor and winter recreation. During my time as an instructor at Breckenridge Ski Resort I became a supervisor and staff trainer for the Kid's Ski and Ride School and developed the MiniShred program at Breckenridge for teaching 3-6 year olds how to snowboard. In 2011, I obtained my EMT Certification and in 2012 I became a Ski Patroller at Keystone Resort. My senior patrollers quickly recognized my background as an instructor and trainer and I was promoted to Ski and Toboggan Training Specialist in my second year. I have now transitioned into the role of Training Generalist and I am responsible for development, organization and administration of all aspects of our patrol training program. Following acquisition of my EMT, I eventually became a skills instructor with the local EMS program and, subsequently, a tutor for many of the students in need of assistance navigating the cognitive portion of the NREMT exam. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and training, no matter the medium or format. What I enjoy most is working individually with students to discover what it is that will help the material "click" for them.
