I am currently in the last quarter of completing my Secondary Teaching degree and recently completed my student teaching. My focus subject is History, and learning and teaching History is my passion; but I am also an avid reader and love incorporating many resources and 'disciplines' into my teaching no matter what subject it is. I will be certified to teach High School Social Sciences after I graduate, and I have worked with just about every other aged young person professionally as well. I was an assistant teacher in a summer school in San Francisco (where I'm from) in 2017 and 2018 with classes from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade; and I have been an assistant teacher in Northwestern University's Center for Talent Development's weekend and summer enrichment programs. There I have worked with all aged young people, from Kindergarten to Eighth Grade, and have assistant taught subjects such as debate, government, and robotics. Additionally, I have been a tutor at two community programs on the North Side of Chicago focused on literacy, and worked with Fourth and Seventh Graders with those two organizations. I believe in connecting learning to students' interests, providing accessible and interesting content, and building a strong and resilient learning environments and relationships.
