I am a graduate of a top, private Liberal Arts college and a recent employee of an education non-profit working in the after school setting. I have 5 years of experience working with students across age groups in a variety of settings, focusing primarily on writing and reading/reading comprehension. My most recent experience put me in an after school program with elementary school students, where I developed 1-1 support plans (emphasizing reading and reading comprehension) for a handful of especially struggling students.

However, having gone through an intense college application process and having graduated with my BA from a rigorous institution, I feel confident supporting high school students in how to go through this process themselves or how to navigate the academic transition from high school to college.

My college experience has prepared me to support college students in several areas:
Working for 3 years at my college's office of academic resources has prepared me to support both high school and college students in a variety of areas within academic coaching, including: strategic reading and note-taking skills, time management, scheduling, and studying skills.

Working as a Reference Desk Assistant and Research Assistant for my college's library has prepared me to support in all parts of the writing process. Having written a 90+ page senior thesis for my major has also granted me the personal experience in undertaking such large writing projects.

I am confident in working with students of all ages--particularly within the subject of writing--with the ultimate goal being their ability to become independent learners. I am excited by the idea of helping students write their best work!
