Hi,
I'm originally a Wisconsin native, who has been in Colorado since '86. I have three degrees, but the one most relevant is my Bachelor's in Creative Writing from the University of Colorado - Denver, which I earned Summa Cum Laude for my novella (I'm planning on going back for my MFA in the near future.) I've always loved working with kids since I was one myself, but I'm happy to tutor people of all ages. Since becoming an author and editor, I've spoken at schools, libraries, colleges, and at conventions on the craft of writing. I've mentored several students and writers on short story and novel development. The topics I feel most comfortable mentoring are around creative writing, especially fiction. I can also tutor fiction, speculative fiction, and screenplays. I've done essay, non-fiction and poetry, but I'm not as strong there. I love short fiction from flash (under 1K words) to novelettes (15K). I have a very relaxed style and will ply you with obscure movie, television, and music references. I try not to be too serious, having been a DJ and stand-up comic in another life. I have a wide range of geeky/nerdy hobbies from anime to Mayan History to collect POP figures. I also am a Packer Backer, having followed the Green Bay Packers my whole life. I enjoy watching beach volleyball, lacrosse, and hockey. I travel around the country to comic-cons and sci-fi conventions and love exploring new cities and cuisines. I look forward to working with you
