I am a graduate of Nova Southeastern University, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a minor in Physics. I am currently attending Colorado School of Mines with a focus on Engineering Physics. I have been actively tutoring students in mathematics and physics for three years through peer tutoring at Nova Southeastern University, and as an instructor at Sylvan and Mathnasium Learning Centers. I have experience with students of all ages, from second graders through undergraduate college students. My favorite subjects to tutor and algebra and calculus, as they allow me to show the progression of the topics through the course and how they build on each other. My tutoring focuses on fostering mathematical understanding through logical thinking; building up concepts from basics to find gaps in knowledge and giving my students the skills they need now and in the future. I am passionate about seeing the spark of understanding in my my students, and seeing them succeed. I strive to let my students know they are capable of more than they thought and inspiring them to believe in themselves. In my life outside school and tutoring, I enjoy singing opera, scuba diving, camping, or a nice book with some jasmine tea.
