The best teacher is a good learner. I have a strong history of excellence as a student and as a teacher. After hours of studying, I earned the National Merit Scholar Finalist award in 2011. I went on to earn a 3.93 GPA at Baylor University in the Honors Program. I love to learn and desired to share the gift of learning with others, so I pursued teaching at a classical charter school in Texas where I taught 5th grade. My strengths as a teacher are solid understanding and joy in the contentall areas, but especially Latin, number sense, Grammar, and Reading/Literature analysisand creativity in discovering ways to guide my students to deeper understanding of content. I've used puppets for Latin, created songs for difficult memorization, and had students act out a bowling ball scenario to teach indirect and direct objects! I love to bake, to memorize poetry, and to see the look of joy on a student's face when he or she has grasped a difficult concept. I look forward to meeting you!
