I earned an Associate of Science in Biology at Utah Valley University, being placed on the Deans List all five semesters and graduating with honors before moving to Seattle for school where I earned my Bachelor of Science cum laude in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of Washington - Seattle. I am now preparing to enter medical school.
I have many hours of research involving cell pigmentation and novel mutations as well as the pathology and genetics of Alzheimer's Disease. I have an abundance of experience in volunteering and a strong passion for philanthropy and helping underserved populations, and have a goal of one day heading a charitable healthcare organization.
I have a passion for tutoring and teaching, and have a desire to teach medical students as well as treat patients once I am a physician.
I love helping people overcome struggles and frustrations that come along with learning challenging subjects. I understand the cycle of procrastination, failure, discouragement, and rebuilding confidence that happens to many in academic settings. I've been through it myself all throughout middle school and high school, and changed my study habits and organizational skills to exceed in college. Because of that, nothing makes me happier than seeing a student transition from feelings of inadequacy and helplessness to accomplishment and confidence.
