Academic Independence is my goal when I work with students in realizing their dreams. To develop and master a skill, it takes several years of practice. True learning is a process and it takes time. Students have a choice to learn either be one and done or work hard in attaining true understanding so that the skills last a lifetime. All successful sportsman practice daily so that it sharpens them and make themselves competitive. I believe in the same analogy that daily practice is necessary towards academic independence.
No two students are alike, they learn in different ways and at their own pace. I adjust my style to make learning fun! My approach is to allow students to think and I enable thinking by seeking probing questions. Seeking out help is the first step in realizing areas where you need to sharpen your skill, and not a weakness. So, give yourself credit that you have realized to excel yourself by seeking help!!
