I graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a major in English and a supplemental major in Theology. I have developed a solid knowledge of English literature, academic writing and creative writing, and as a native Chinese speaker, I am confident to teach Chinese and share about Chinese culture.
I am very passionate about education and teaching. I started teaching when I was fifteen. As a member of the English Lecture Club in high school, I taught English activity classes with other club members regularly in an elementary school. I have experiences teaching various subjects to students from diverse backgrounds. I have tutored elementary school students English and math during my first two years of college. In my junior year of college, I interned at a Catholic secondary school in London during my semester abroad, where I have taught religious education, drama and Chinese. After graduation, I have mentored international students on their college applications. I have also helped middle schoolers in Boston build their literacy and tennis skills.
I enjoy teaching, because I find it meaningful to listen to stories of students from different backgrounds and establish connections with them. It's very rewarding to see students grow and make progress. I'm looking forward to helping more students learn and building valuable relationships with them!
