I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2015 with a major in Psychology. Since graduating, I have worked in the education industry as both an administrator and most recently, an elementary school teacher at the highest performing charter school network in New York City. My love of learning while I was in school, as well as a desire to see others succeed academically, is what pushed me to pursue a career in education. I am starting my Ed.M. in School Psychology at Teacher's College, Columbia University this fall (2019) so that I can help students overcome difficulties that impede their learning.
As an aspiring school psychologist, I love working with students one-on-one, which is why I have been drawn to tutoring since high school. In high school I served as a peer tutor and during undergrad I tutored reading/literacy at an underrepresented elementary school. As an elementary school teacher, I have been trained in the most effective teaching methods to really push students to master concepts, and I have been introduced to the various ways in which different students learn - knowledge which I hope to use when I meet future clients! I am most passionate about tutoring math at the K-4 level, as I love math and have a naturally analytical mind. I am also TESOL certified and enjoy tutoring young students in speaking, reading and writing. In addition to Varsity Tutors, I teach English online to young students in China. Outside of work I enjoy pilates/yoga, traveling, exploring new restaurants, bachata dance and listening to audio books.
