I am a recent graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, having received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in June 2018. I have had a considerable amount of tutoring experience throughout both high school and college, covering a wide array of subjects, including Mathematics, Chemistry, English, and U.S. History. While Mathematics is the subject I have the most experience with (both as a student and as a tutor), I am just as passionate about each new tutoring opportunity I encounter, regardless of which subjects it involves. The process of getting to know a student, figuring out which teaching methods fit best with their unique learning style, and helping them to increase their level of understanding of a subject beyond where it was when we started working together is one that I find enormously rewarding. But even outside of the obvious satisfaction associated with helping a student reach their goals, I find that the challenge of adapting my teaching to the different learning style of each new student I tutor provides me with an opportunity to strengthen my own understanding of the topics we cover as well, which I not only enjoy, but also consider to be incredibly valuable.
