I have a bachelors degree in English from the University of California at Santa Barbara, where I graduated Phi Beta Kappa, with High Honors and with Distinction in the Major. I earned a masters degree in Counseling Psychology, which I also obtained at U.C.S.B. As a professional dancer/dance teacher,(whose credits include Walt Disney Productions) I have years of experience working with students of all ages. As a formerly licensed Family Therapist, I counseled individuals, families and groups. My specialties were communication skills, violence prevention, and children's play therapy. I have tutored others in writing, editing and English on an informal basis. My publications include a novel, "Kiss the Doors", as well as poetry and non-fiction. Since I have always loved reading and writing, the opportunity to help others in these subject areas is tailor-made to my interests and expertise. I like to laugh and enjoy life. I bring my sense of humor to any endeavor. Learning can and should be fun as well as interesting and rewarding. My non-academic interests include teaching, choreographing and performing dance, reading, interior design, writing, meditation, film, documentaries, art, music, baseball, ballet and playing, sometimes raucous, board games with friends and family!
